Re: Clock Died
Apologies for the late reply, a direct email would be faster as I don't always check here. Have you tried another 5V supply?. After that it would be check the current being drawn and that 5V is reaching the PIC, also if anything is getting hot. If the nixies flash on then T12 and the PIC are probabl...

Re: Help!
If you had 2 clocks running in series they would display '1.048596'. Probably.
It made more sense as a reference back when I designed it.

Re: Help!
The replacement sensors we have found for IC4 (as Sharp have discontinued production of the original and there are very few alternatives with no internal AGC) is a bit more senstitve than the original. Try covering about 3/4 of the window with heatshrink for now. A software mod will probably be need...

Re: Help!
The first thing to eleininate is the LED - the blue LED is in series with the MPSA42 base and can sometimes cause problems. Just bridge it for now to see if there's any change. The high voltages and resistances can make taking readings a bit confusing so replacing suspect transistors is the easiest ...

Re: Adding GPS
The field separation is the comma, Dps won't alter the position of the time data. This is the relevant part of the code, it reads the first 6 bytes after the first comma, counts to the date field, then reads another 6 bytes. XXXsnipXXX Note how the RMC message starts "GN" not "GP&quo...

Re: Adding GPS
I have a couple of new GPS modules to test over the weekend and will check the GPS code is behaving as it should. All clocks will be the same as the firmware is identical. The timezone offset is GMT by default. Are you seeing any other strange variables set?.

Re: PCB assembly discussion
A 10k variable would do but there's usually quite a large voltage change anyway meaning there's a wide acceptable range.
