Re: Troubleshooting

Hey Tony, A while back I had asked about my thermometer kit that was acting strange and sometimes not powering up. So I finally got around to looking into it. I did replace the DHT11 and allowed it to run a day. After about 8 hours the display would freeze at the same temp, a few minutes later the f...

Re: Troubleshooting

Even with an external sensor connected, will a fault with the internal sensor still cause this?

Re: Troubleshooting

Hey Tony, I have been having some troubles with my V2 thermometer lately. It had been working great for the last 2 years, sitting on my entertainment stand. Lately I've noticed that the temp display would 'lock-up' and stick on an incorrect temp. The display would still switch from K, to C to F and ...

Re: Options and mods

Hey Tony, I saw on the shop page that you offer a special edition of the 5 tube clock using IN-8-2 tubes. Can these tubes be used in place of the IN-14 tubes without any modification to the board? If so, what is the specific part for the symbol tube?

Re: PCB Assembly discussion

Hey Tony I've begun to build the clock kit this past weekend, so far so good. I've only run into one issue with the assembly. The included socket for IC1 was incorrect. The kit contained (2) 16 pin sockets rather than (1) 16 pin and (1) 18 pin socket. Not really a big deal, I was tempted to mount IC...

Re: External sensor mod

Thanks for the info Tony. Ill have to wait and see how the DHT11 works out when it gets here. I had picked up the DHT22 from eBay for $4.50 and $1 shipping. Expensive for a single component I know, but I didn't want to buy 10 or wait two weeks for one to be shipped from China. Radio Shack ha...

Re: External sensor mod

This weekend I picked up all the items to make the external sensor from my local Radio Shack and eBay. Everything was under $20 so wasn't too bad. I put together the harness with a DHT22 as mentioned in some previous posts. It did work, but not quite right. Humidity displayed 01%, where actual was o...

Re: PCB assembly discussion

Hey Tony! I bought one of these last weekend and finished it in about 4 hours Thursday night. Looks great and worked fine on first power up! Just a few questions: I am having the common 'Temperature reading too high' as mentioned on another thread, especially after first turning the thermometer on. ...
