Re: Start here - Kit contents

So I just received my kit - and am a bit lost at where to even begin. Is there a general "first do this, then do that" outline anywhere? Thanks! --Josh Josh I sort of had the same feeling. Here is how I tackled it pretty much what Tony said. I just soldered all the parts onto the main boa...

Re: Board coils discussion

Okay so here is a video of the issue I was describing in my previous post. Pretty much the pictures are worth more than I can say possibly some insight into whats going would be great :) Thanks again

Re: It has Begun

Excellent points tony on the pin holders. I have not yet drilled into the coil but I am doing it before I wrap the coil around the coil former so as to avoid this issue. I already burned up one MOSFET somehow :). In positioning them what I do is stick all the pin bases into the PCB then place the ni...

Re: Board coils discussion

Thank you Tony thats sort of what I figured. So I have brass nut then washer and I pinch a couple of turns of the copper wire between the washer and coil former then goes through the board and tapered head of the screw makes contact with the trace on the opposite side of the board. I am having a bit...

Re: Board coils discussion

So I do have a quick question. Before I bolt all these coils onto the board. Are they supposed to be bolted with the wings down on the component side so the coile is actually a little bit above the surface components. Or is is supposed to be bolted wings down onto the solder side of the board? I can...

Re: It has Begun

Welcome aboard. I actually just got my kit about a week ago and have been working on it a bit. SO I assume yours is probably just like mine with the black PCB board and printed boards for all the pieces. Tony has done a great job of supporting this and ive tried not to bug him with to many questions...

Re: Piece display PCB discussion

Got it thanks so much Tony. I was actually just pondering that today. I was so excited just about the whole thing running on the Nixie tubes I started thinking about game play and the pieces. I noted in all the videos ive seen of the finished boards all the pieces look the same. So how do you know w...

Re: Piece display PCB discussion

Just got my kit a couple days ago... I have started working on the kit tonight decided I would start with a display PCB. Any way got one all the way done. Do any of you guys have any pictures of how it fits into the enclosure for the pieces? I assume that you push the PCB up into the bottom and that...
